This course is designed for aspiring authors of fiction or nonfiction to get started on their journey of publishing their work. Judith will take the class through a step-by-step process all the way to the final product of publishing. Participants will take away tips and strategies for publishing their book in today's changing publishing world. They are asked to bring personal laptops to each session. Judith has authored 48 books and has been awarded over 60 book awards. She has sold over 1 million copies and has worked with thousands of aspiring authors to achieve their publishing dreams.

13 Why Sitcoms Reign Supreme

This course will explore the generational development and popularity of the "sitcom," a cornerstone of Western television entertainment since its inception nearly 80 years ago.  The three different types of sitcoms (the action comedy, the domestic comedy, and the dramatic comedy), will be examined as the class seeks to answer why this genre, though often undervalued and underappreciated, has survived.  Like most Americans, Sheryl, who formerly taught Mass Media at the high school level, grew up and grew older watching sitcoms and has often pondered why the genre has appealed to so many for so long.

People in this class will learn how to make popular felt flowers and leaves to be used in a finished project of their choice.  The four types of flowers covered in the course are rolled, petal to petal, folded, and flat. Patterns will be provided. Vickie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and an avid interest in quilting. She facilitates the HEB Crazy Quilters once a month and belongs to the Smoky Hill Quilt Club. 

 

Fee: A supply list will be emailed before the first class. 

Individuals who need supplies may spend $30-$40.

 Magic entices and entertains all ages as it creates illusions. Participants in this class will learn simple magic tricks that can easily be taught to grandchildren. The class will have fun learning secrets behind the creation of magic using common household items (e.g. paper clips, rubber bands, playing cards).For years the presenters have been entertaining friends with magic tricks.
